We have had to make some changes to our speakers but during the day you will have the opportunity to hear and question four speakers, all local to the South West and experts in their field. They will guide you to an understanding of the current changes to our world and how these are affecting our waterways, plant life and the air we breathe and the steps being taken in the South West to protect our environment and how we, as individuals, can play our part.
The speakers are:-
Professor Molly Scott-Cato– South West MEP for the Green Party who is championing all environmental issues on our behalf.
Dr Angus Atkinson– from Plymouth Marine Laboratory who is working on water quality around our coast and how this is affecting sealife and our beaches.
Andrew Whitehouse– Counties Manager at Buglife. Based in the South West he will talk about what has lead to the decline in bees and other pollinating insects and what we can do individually and collectively to help their recovery.
Jane Ford– Community Liaison Manager for MVV Environment Devonport will talk about recycling and what happens to our rubbish.
